This was my first time using Vayama and so I was skeptical when I asked for a full refund. Technical problems with Vayama froze their system while processing my on-line payment. The next day called their toll free number instead and booked another flight. Unbeknownst to me, or the agent on the other end, my payment the day before had gone through causing a double booking. It took me two weeks to notice the mistake after checking my emails more throughly. I wanted a full refund and made my case to an agents without much success until I talked with Beth, one of Vayama supervisors. She listened to my views respectfully but also pointed out that a confirmation email (which I overlooked) was sent out immediately for the first booking. Despite this, she agreed with my premise that the agent, aware of the tech problems the day before, should of checked for a double booking. Still, Beth had to take my case to her supervisor which resulted in a happy ending. A check was written out for the total amount. While the entire process took two weeks, a bit longer than Beth said it would, I am happy that Vayama did the right thing. I will use them in the future not only becouse of their integrity but also for the fact they provided me with a fare price and schedule that others could not.

Marie - I'm very sorry to hear about your experience. Yes you're correct, even if the application is cool and not teamed/ supported by good process it is utter waste when it comes to services spectrum. I did have a good option about Vayamaa since they were backed up with good travel agency. Anyway, its pity to hear they were not able to help out you in this situation. BTW, did they work out any offer for your at last?

Also I would like to warn the reader before trying out this service.

The application may be cool - but if it's not teamed up with great business process - then what's the point? I am very disappointed with the service I received with Vayama. My and my husband's tickets were not booked in a timely manner, causing us to lose our low price airfares. Vayama waited two weeks to contact us about this issue. The customer service rep tried to work out a compromise; They promised to call me back the next day to confirm what they could offer us, but they called back two days later, only to tell us that they needed three more days to work out the offer.

Thats true. But I have not used much of those other than booking local tickets via <a href="http://www.yatra.com"/" rel="nofollow">Yatra.com. BTB, Vayama is not an Indian site anyway.

I agree with you! I'm thinking of creating few bunches of posts in a go and having it posted in a frequency! This would worth it for returning visitors.

Benedict,
I think you need to increase your posting frequency. There is a very big gap between your posts.

Thats true! I directed this site to one of my friend who wanted to travel back to India. He was fully amazed with the user experience and the accuracy as well. Vayama would lead the international market segment soon.!

Sumesh, Thanks for your comments and compliments ;-)

Not exactly TechCrunch 2.0 but another TechCorner 2.0; I have to increase my posting frequency.

I wonder why they have kept this name; They might have since they are taking their effort international. But Vayama is not an Indian Startup; read their About page.

Couple of days back I made the final move to Site5. I'm extremely happy about their service and quick in time support. I'm a reseller customer with Site5 and they truly will buy my review soon :)

Tisk, tisk.......Ben's techblog is becoming the TechCrunch 2.0, covering web 2.0 startups. Btw, the word Vayama sounds Indian, so is it Indian?

And you should be covering startups more often, seeing how good you are at it.

Keep up the good work, Ben. If only you would post more often ;) But I guess you can't win them all.

And how's your webhost, Site5?
